We are pleased to announce our Principal, Mrs. Nancy Portillo, has been appointed to a new position with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles as the Assistant Superintendent of High School Academic Excellence and Government Funded Programs. We are excited that she will continue to support all high schools, including St. Mary's Academy.

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet and the school's Board of Directors have blessed the appointment of Mrs. Mary Rose Pascua Batungbacal as the new Principal for the 2017-2018 school year. In addition to serving as the Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction, Mrs. Batungbacal has been the Math and Science Department Chair, a STEM teacher, and an Academic Advisor for the past seven years. She has worked closely with Mrs. Portillo in many areas of the school, including curriculum and instructional support, teacher professional development, sustaining and growing the Business and Engineering Career Path Programs, and creating new systems for academic advising. She is excited to maintain and grow a quality college, preparatory education while upholding the traditions and charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph. Mrs. Batungbacal will carry on the frontward momentum of the school.
