Hello Alumnae and Friends of St. Mary's Academy,
There is something magical about the beginning of a school year. One's senses are filled with all that the new year brings - refreshed and excited students, the newness of uniforms and school supplies, and the invigorated and ready to teach faculty and staff. Happy chatter of youth once again fills the halls and social areas on the SMA campus. Working year round, the students' presence and voices are certainly missed during their summer break, so it's wonderful to have the students back!
The beginning of the school year brings the start of student activities, in and outside of the classroom. The other evening, while walking the school halls, the sounds of extra-curricular activities synonymous with high school could be heard- dribbling basketballs in the gym, the chanting and clapping of cheer practice, and the relaxed laughter and conversation of students just "hanging out". It is evident how comfortable and safe the students feel here, before, during, and after school hours. This amazing learning and recreating environment for current and future Belles would not be possible were it not for our philanthropic alumnae, friends, partners, and Foundations.
This past summer, improvement to the students' social spaces have been made due to the thoughtfulness and generosity of the late Joan Barber, Green Tie 1953. Ms. Barber named the school as the primary beneficiary in her trust. Her kindness has allowed for exterior physical campus improvements, with plans to improve interior spaces over the next several months. In addition, a significant part of the gift has been earmarked for an endowment to assist students with scholarship and financial aid.
Should you be so moved to partner in and/or continue in St. Mary's Academy mission of educating young women/our future, there are several options to consider-
- Planned Giving - bequests, charitable gift annuities, & trusts
- Monthly Giving
- Annual Giving
- Sharing your time and talent with various alumnae events and fundraising projects
All of the gifts received from the various options go towards providing and enhancing our current and future students' high school educational experience. Please feel free to contact me for information on "How To Give".
If you are new to our school community or a long time partner, please know you are always welcome to stop by St. Mary's Academy for a visit and to spend time walking the halls and visiting classrooms to experience the enthusiastic teaching and learning, as you are part of the SMA family!
Wishing you peace and good health, & may our heavenly Father bless you always.
