In celebration of Black History Month, Student Leadership Council hosted an interactive Black History STEM Fair instead of a traditional "sit down" assembly. SLC chose this theme to honor Black excellence in science, technology, engineering, math, and medicine, with the goal of introducing our student body to people and achievements they may not be familiar with yet. Students of all grades volunteered to present on a topic of their choice during the STEM Fair. Before student audience members visited displays they identified one thing they knew about Black History and STEM and two things they wanted to learn today; when the fair was over they highlighted at least three new things they learned. We were delighted to see so much pride and effort shine through our presenters' displays, models, and demonstrations! Thank you, Belles, for bringing Black History in STEM to life!
